This month we were lucky enough to catch up with team rider Kevin Aiello on his home trails. Enjoy Kevin's down right nasty whips. Send us a pic/video of your whip to be in the running for FREE product and gear courtesy of www.darktimbers.com
I headed back out to Fontana last weekend for round #2 of the Cal State series. This was my 1st race since having my 2nd baby girl, and I was pretty stoked to get back out on the DH bike! Saturday was DH practice, and I rolled out later in the afternoon. It ended up being pretty hot out there, and after 1 practice run I called it a day. The course was almost exactly the same as the National course a few months ago, so I didn’t have any stress about learning a new track. The main difference was there wasn’t going to be the Wall section at the bottom, which was probably due to the 2 run format they’d run on Sunday.
After watching the World Cup on the internet Sunday Morning, and seeing my boy Gwinny score a solid 7th place, I was motivated to go have some fun racing! I did 2 practice runs in the morning, and I was ready to roll. I’m still struggling with a nagging foot injury, so my plan was to just ride smooth and safe. My first race run went well, I hit all the lines I wanted to hit, but I rode pretty cautious. I ended up 2nd in the first run. My 2nd race run was slightly faster, and I just tried to roll through sections off the brakes a little more. I was 2nd again, and 2nd overall on the day.
Thanks again to all my sponsors for the support this year!
